I've been studying Mandarin for about 1,5 years now, at first with Lu and for the last couple of months with Jenny as well. Both Lu and Jenny are very pleasant people to receive lessons from. I owe it to both their patience and flexibility that I've been able to combine my Mandarin studies with my otherwise busy schedule. Next to actually learning the language they have also helped me to understand more of Chinese culture and customs, making it the ideal combination for anyone who intends applying Mandarin in the business world!

Chinese is a language that needs a lot of practice for Western tongues and learning in large groups therefore just isn't the right way. Everyone needs their own personal attention, getting rid of their own specific pronunciation handicaps. With strict but patient teacher Lu I did not only find the right corrections but in our personal discussions I also learned a great deal about background of the language and the life in China itself. I strongly recommend anyone serious about learning Chinese to start with Lu!

"Chinese
lessons from Lu definitely help me improve my mandarin. I am a Dutch born Chinese
student of Lu. Like many young Chinese of my generation we dislike Saturday
Chinese School and envy other children who are free at Saturday morning. Now
at age 26 and after several visits to mainland and HK .I now regret that i didn’t
pay much attention to those lessons. But thanks to the extreme friendly and
professional approach of Lu my mandarin and Chinese start to catch up. He is
very flexible and down to earth. U might end up having a new Chinese friend."

"I
think Lu does a wonderful job teaching me the Chinese language. His lessons
are well organized and I get the feeling that with some effort I will be able
to speak Chinese. I also like his flexibility in planning the lessons and that
we use Skype."

"The
lessons at Chineselessen.nl are in small group, which makes it better to
learn the language. One of the difficulties of Chinese is the pronunciation
of the strange words. If you are in a small group, you are able to practice
more (and I can tell you, you really need that). A great thing of a small
group is that you can easily switch dates with the whole group.
Zaijian!"

"I've
been taking one-on-one lessons from Lu for almost a year now. The
dedicated attention to critical aspects of learning Mandarin, particularly
pronunciation, is something I value greatly. Compared to my group lessons
(VCN) last year, this is much better: now I'm really learning!"

"Lu, is a very nice and patient teacher, he let me use
my own methodology and
followed me. He helped me in what I couldn't have possibly done by studying
by myself and I couldn't really learn in big group classes: pronunciation.
Pronunciation is critical in Mandarin. And you really need a (private)
teacher to get it right. And Lu is the right one for it.
Also, he has a very nice personality, so lessons are always pleasant and you
always feel at ease, also to make mistakes.
Thanks Lu!"

"The very good thing about Lu's lessons is the very intense
way of working
(almost one-on-one), and the relatively sharp prices.
Learning chinese in the way Lu does is much more efficient then for instance
via 'Chinese School Amsterdam',
where you have group lessons with aprox 20 people together."
